Instant Pay is a benefit unique to Graphite that allows experts to receive payments quicker on project work.

How does Instant Pay Work?

  • You can activate Instant Pay on either projects or invoices.

  • Once activated, continue working on your project as you normally would. Graphite will reach out to the client to obtain approval for the work that you've completed for them.

  • Once the client approves your work, Graphite remits payment to you the next business day after deducting the Instant Pay fee.

  • The client will continue to pay their invoices to Graphite using their standard payment terms. There is absolutely no impact on their operations.

So, by using Instant Pay, you can get paid significantly faster for a nominal fee!

How do I activate Instant Pay on projects?

Activating Instant Pay on a project basis gives you the luxury of having each invoice automatically billed as Instant Pay until the project is completed.

Activate Instant Pay from your Project

  1. Go to the Active Projects (click here - must be logged in first)

  2. Click the “Manage Project” button

  3. Click the “Enable” button on the Instant Pay block

How do I activate Instant Pay on invoices?

Activating Instant Pay on an invoice-by-invoice basis gives you more control of when you want to use this feature.

Activate Instant Pay from your Dashboard

There are two locations on your Dashboard where you can activate Instant Pay for specific invoices (outlined in red below):

  • The button at the top of the page

  • The Activate button in the Things To Do section

Activate Instant Pay from your Project's Work Tab > Invoice Tab

After navigating to your current project's Work Tab, then the Invoices Tab, you can click the "Activate Instant Pay" button (outlined in red below).

Activate Instant Pay from the Billing Tab

Click on the "Billing" tab in the left navigation menu. At the far right, you can click on the "Activate Instant Pay" button per invoice (outlined in red below).

Is there a fee for using Instant Pay?

Yes, there is an administrative fee of 2% that will be withheld on each Instant Pay invoice. For example, if your invoice is $10,000, you would receive $9,800 after the $200 Instant Pay fee.

When can I expect payment for using Instant Pay?

Once your client approves your work, Graphite will remit payment to you. Depending on your financial institution, funds can take as long as 1-3 business days to reach your account.

I don't see Instant Pay as an option for my project or invoices. How do I enable Instant Pay?

At this time, this feature is only available for select projects. If you feel that your project should be considered for Instant Pay, please send us an email at help@graphite.com.

I activated Instant Pay, but I haven't seen any payments yet.

It's likely we're still obtaining approval for your invoice from the client. Once approved, Graphite will remit the payment to you.
